the glueguns
The Glueguns are Matthew Lawrence. The project started as an offshoot of the Gloomy Pharmacists, when Ethan was in college in Ohio and Matthew wanted something to occupy himself in the meantime. There have been no official Glueguns releases.
Aside from the band, Matthew has a dull retail job and writes the art column for Providence Monthly. He frequently thinks about writing novels and making movies but never actually gets around to them. If you ever want to be in a Mike Leigh-style porn movie, though, let him know.
Matthew has, at various times, been physically compared to Garth Hudson, Rob from Get Fuzzy, Pete Sampras, and one of the Smith Brothers from the cough drop labels.
Stuff he likes include: the music of the Magnetic Fields, Petula Clark, the Dave Clark Five, Cat Power, and Pulp; the books of MT Anderson, Mary Elizabeth Braddon, Evelyn Waugh, Aimee Bender, and Rachel Cohn; the movies of Lynne Ramsey, the Maysles Brothers, Robert Altman, Emir Kusturica, and David O Russell; and very little that's on TV.
