Gloomy Pharmacy

The Gloomy Pharmacists was the name of the two-man band I was in from 2001-2007. We released a number of EPs online with (understandably) little to no acclaim.

In addition to our music, which was all free and mostly distributed via this website, we had a fairly active fan community, and over the years this website had essay contests, movie reviews, and an advice column.  Annually we would present a fan-nominated list of the fifty most beautiful people in the world, and from 2002-2007 we organized yearly fan-chosen movie/music/TV/book/internet awards.

Our nine EPs, including our annual EPs of traditional and not-so-traditional holiday music, featured contributions by artists from Sweden, Poland, France, the US and the Netherlands.

Ethan and I split the songwriting duties on the Gloomy Pharmacists songs, though in general he was the music guy and I did the lyrics.  We also both did solo stuff and released it under the Gloomy Pharmacy banner (him under the name Glove Compartment, me as the Glueguns).  Songs I wrote have been recorded by electronic artists Question Mark (now Ravage! Ravage!) and Navaira (later half of Technologic.)

The old website is gone now, but I decided to hang on to the name.
