Gillian Anderson didn't drop off the Earth after the X-Files ended. She moved to England, where she's been doing theatre and showing up in all sorts of English-y roles, including Michael Winterbottom's Tristam Shandy (which the Boston Phoenix described as possibly the best literary adaptation of all time) and the BBC's 14-part adaptation of Bleak House. Her next movie is documentarian Kevin MacDonald's The Last King of Scotland, which stars Forest Whitaker as Idi Amin and deals with the relationship between the dictator and his doctor.

Gillian is on the list because she looks good standing in front of a refrigerator.
